ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday hailed the signing of the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) but stressed that its details should be shared openly with the public.

In a statement on X, PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said the agreement reaffirmed the historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, rooted in faith, shared security interests, and decades of partnership.

He noted that closer defence cooperation with Riyadh has the potential to deepen bilateral relations and play a constructive role in ensuring regional peace and stability.

Akram added that PTI founder Imran Khan has always envisioned Pakistan as a country that builds unity within the Muslim world, strengthens cooperation, and promotes peace globally.

Underscoring the importance of the Harmain-ul-Sharifain, he said their sanctity and protection remain central to the faith of every Pakistani, making the Saudi partnership a matter of deep significance.

While appreciating Saudi Arabia’s consistent support for Pakistan, PTI urged the government to release further information about the pact so that the nation remains fully informed about its scope and implications.

The statement concluded by reaffirming PTI’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Kingdom, expressing confidence that expanded cooperation will advance peace, prosperity, and security for both nations and the broader region.
