ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — In a significant political development, incarcerated PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has agreed to initiate dialogue with the government, following an invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to sources, Khan gave the green light for talks to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan during a meeting at Adiala Jail on Monday. However, Khan emphasized that any negotiations should take place away from media coverage to ensure productive and sincere discussions.

PTI insiders confirmed the party will now formally approach the government to move the process forward. They believe previous attempts at dialogue collapsed due to excessive media scrutiny, and are pushing for a more private, focused engagement this time.

When contacted, Barrister Gohar confirmed he had conveyed the prime minister’s offer to Khan but declined to provide details of their discussion, citing its sensitive nature.

This development follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent call for a national dialogue during a speech in the National Assembly. While PTI welcomed the offer, party leaders had maintained that no step could be taken without Khan’s approval.

Sources within PTI also indicated that Khan wants the talks to have the support of the military establishment and is open to meeting a representative to help facilitate the process.

The breakthrough comes at a time of increased calls for political unity in the wake of recent tensions with India. Whether this quiet approach to dialogue will yield results remains to be seen.
