KARACHI (RNN TV) — The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has dismissed rumors that currency notes with pen marks or handwriting will be banned starting July 1, 2025.

A spokesperson for the central bank called the reports false and misleading, clarifying that no such notification has been issued. The clarification came in response to a fake notification circulating on social media, which claimed that notes with pen markings would become invalid from the next fiscal year.

The SBP spokesperson emphasized that currency notes are a national asset and should be handled with care to maintain their integrity, but firmly rejected the idea of a ban on notes marked with pen.
