RAWALPINDI (RNN TV) — In a landmark meeting at General Headquarters (GHQ), Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, held high-level talks with Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), to outline a national vision for digital transformation and youth empowerment.

The discussion focused on harnessing emerging technologies—particularly blockchain, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence (AI)—to drive Pakistan’s economic growth and global competitiveness. Both leaders emphasized the crucial role of Pakistan’s youth in shaping the country’s digital future.

“Our young generation isn’t just preparing for the future—they are leading it,” said Saqib. “Blockchain, digital finance, and AI are not threats. They are tools for empowerment, innovation, and national uplift.”

Progress and Roadmap Shared

During the meeting, Saqib shared significant updates on PCC’s recent initiatives, including regulatory consultations, global partnerships, and educational outreach. He also highlighted the historic visit of Binance founder Changpeng Zhao and the World Liberty Financial delegation to Pakistan.

Saqib presented a forward-looking roadmap focused on creating a digitally skilled generation ready to compete globally, and establishing Pakistan as a hub for digital finance innovation.

Government Endorses New Regulatory Authority

In a move that aligns with PCC’s mission, the Ministry of Finance recently announced the formation of the Pakistan Digital Assets Authority (PDAA). The newly created body will oversee the country’s blockchain and virtual asset infrastructure and regulate a crypto market estimated at over $300 billion.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb hailed this development as a turning point:
“Pakistan is on the brink of digital transformation. The PDAA will help build a secure, inclusive, and globally relevant virtual asset ecosystem,” he stated.

The authority is expected to:

  • Regulate and formalize crypto trading

  • Tokenize national assets and government debt

  • Attract international investment

  • Promote responsible innovation

  • Support Bitcoin mining and AI data centers using surplus electricity

Youth at the Heart of the Digital Shift

Pakistan’s youth population—70% under the age of 30—was a central theme of the discussion. The PCC continues to focus on youth training, tech entrepreneurship, and policy development to foster digital leadership among Pakistanis.

With over 50 million crypto users and one of the world’s highest adoption rates, Pakistan is rapidly becoming a global player in the blockchain space. The country also ranks as the third-largest freelance market globally, with over 50,000 new IT graduates entering the workforce each year.

International Engagement

The meeting comes ahead of Saqib’s participation in the upcoming Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, where he will speak alongside global leaders in crypto and AI, including U.S. political figures and major tech CEOs.

“Pakistan’s digital journey is gaining global traction,” Saqib said. “We now have the leadership support and momentum to position Pakistan as a true innovator in the global digital economy.”

The Pakistan Crypto Council continues to lead national and international efforts to shape policy, drive innovation, and empower a new generation of tech-savvy Pakistanis.
