ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — Pakistan on Friday issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s military strikes against Iran, denouncing the action as “unjustified and illegitimate” and a violation of international norms.

In a statement, the Foreign Office said the Israeli assault breached Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, in clear contravention of the United Nations Charter and core principles of international law. It emphasized that Iran has the inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

The condemnation came in response to a major Israeli military offensive that targeted sites across Iran, including nuclear facilities, missile production centers, and military leadership. Israel described the strikes as the beginning of a broader campaign aimed at halting Iran’s alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Reports from Iranian state media and eyewitnesses indicated multiple explosions, including at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility. Iranian authorities also confirmed the death of Hossein Salami, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards, in one of the strikes. Residential areas in Tehran were also hit, with several civilian casualties, including children.

The Pakistani government expressed solidarity with the Iranian people and warned that the aggression posed a serious threat to regional and global peace.

“This blatant provocation endangers the stability of the entire region,” the Foreign Office stated. “The international community and the United Nations must act urgently to stop further escalation, uphold international law, and hold the responsible party accountable.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also extended his condolences to the people of Iran, condemning the attack as a reckless and unprovoked act of aggression.

“This reckless and deeply troubling act poses a serious threat to an already fragile region,” he said, calling on the international community and the United Nations to take immediate and decisive action to prevent further escalation and protect both regional and global peace.

Condemning “unjustified Israeli attacks” on Iran, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said termed it a brazen violation of Iran’s sovereignty.

“This abhorrent action has shaken foundations of international law as well as conscience of humanity; and gravely undermines regional stability & int’l security,” he wrote on X.

He said Pakistan stood in solidarity with the government and people of Iran.

Similarly, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman and former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also “strongly condemned Israel’s unprovoked attack on Iran”.

He also offered heartfelt condolences to the Iranian people during this difficult hour, calling on all responsible nations and the United Nations to work collectively towards de-escalation and to uphold international law.

Meanwhile, the Senate and the National Assembly have also passed a resolution rebuking Israel for resorting to “war crime by attacking our brotherly country Iran”.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar presented the resolution in the upper house of Parliament.
