PESHAWAR (RNN TV) – Internal divisions within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) intensified as tensions flared between provincial PTI president Junaid Akbar Khan and the spokesperson for Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, exposing a deepening rift in the party’s leadership, according to the Reports.

The conflict escalated after Junaid Akbar accused the provincial government of deliberately sidelining him and targeting his political allies. He alleged that development projects associated with MPAs who had publicly supported him were scrapped, implying that the chief minister was working to undermine his leadership.

Akbar also took aim at Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif — the CM’s adviser on information — accusing him of promoting a narrative aligned with the establishment, further fueling internal discord.

In response, Barrister Saif launched a scathing counterattack, dismissing Akbar’s claims and suggesting he step down. “Junaid Akbar should stop whining and stay at home,” Saif said bluntly, questioning Akbar’s competence and urging him to make space for more capable leadership within PTI.

Speaking to a reporter, Saif added that he only met PTI founder Imran Khan at Khan’s own request and would comply with any future instructions. He held Akbar responsible for his own failures, arguing that his frustrations stemmed from his inability to effectively perform his duties.

“Those who are working don’t complain,” Saif remarked. “This is a critical time for the party. Instead of leveling accusations, Akbar should stand by the leadership.”

He also criticized Akbar’s public attacks on the chief minister, calling them inappropriate and counterproductive. “If he has concerns, they should be resolved behind closed doors — not through public statements,” Saif said.

Addressing broader political developments, Saif dismissed PML-N leader Amir Muqam’s recent remarks suggesting that his brother, opposition leader Ibadullah Khan, could have become the chief minister. Saif insisted that the PTI-led provincial government remained stable, with united MPAs committed to completing their full constitutional term.
