Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has asserted that no previous federal or provincial government in Pakistan’s history has matched his administration’s revenue collection performance within such a short time frame.

Gandapur claimed his government has collected Rs2.5 billion, calling it just the beginning of a broader economic push. “I challenge anyone to show me a government that has collected more revenue than mine. We’ve collected Rs2.5 billion, and that’s just the beginning,” he stated.

He added that his benchmark for success isn’t limited to current governments but spans the performance of the past four terms, emphasizing, “In one term, I have to outperform four.”

Criticism of Political Rivals

During the interview, Gandapur also took a swipe at political rival Maulana Fazlur Rehman, mocking the JUI-F chief’s electoral defeat. “He lost from his own constituency and still calls himself a leader. His election guarantees were forfeited,” he said.

PTI-Led Movement Set to Begin August 5

Shifting focus to national politics, Gandapur confirmed that a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led movement will begin on August 5, following party founder Imran Khan’s direction to wait until after Muharram. He said preparations for the movement are already underway.

90-Day Ultimatum

Gandapur also addressed his previously announced 90-day ultimatum to the federal government, declaring it was his personal decision. “Let’s see what I do as chief minister on the instructions of the PTI founder,” he remarked, without revealing further details.

On July 12, while addressing a meeting of PTI’s parliamentary party at the farmhouse of former Senate Deputy Chairman Mirza Muhammad Khan Afridi near Jati Umrah, Gandapur had issued a stark warning: the party would either achieve its objectives—chiefly the release of Imran Khan—or its leadership would exit politics altogether.

“The time for silence is over,” Gandapur declared. “Either it’s you or us who’ll survive. Either we achieve our goal, or we leave politics,” he said, condemning what he described as state-sponsored oppression.
