The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has decided to once again seek answers from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan regarding the activity of his social media account on platform X, even though he remains in Adiala Jail.

This time, investigators will not hold a face-to-face interrogation. Instead, the inquiry will be based on the written replies Khan has provided to a detailed questionnaire earlier delivered to him. Sources said the 21-point document specifically focused on how his personal X account continues to operate while he is in custody.

The agency’s main concerns are:

  • Why the account remains active despite Khan’s imprisonment.

  • Who is responsible for managing and posting content.

  • Whether Khan personally authorizes the material uploaded.

  • If critical or sensitive posts are being published with his approval.

Previous attempts at questioning
Officials revealed that investigation teams had already met Khan twice inside Adiala Jail, but both sessions ended without meaningful cooperation. During the second visit, tensions reportedly flared, leading to a sharp exchange between Khan and the investigators.

After these unsuccessful meetings, the NCCIA shifted its approach and opted for written questions, expecting more precise and accountable responses from the PTI founder.
