SINDH (RNN TV) — Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan chaired a high-level meeting of the National Highway Authority (NHA) Central Zone, where key infrastructure projects were reviewed and discussed.

Among the major announcements were two significant motorway projects in Sindh—valued at $2 billion—that are set to begin this year. Khan confirmed that construction on the M6 and M9 motorways will commence in Sindh within the current year.

He also revealed that planning is underway for new motorways in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the Mansehra-Naran and Kaghan routes, which are expected to launch within the same timeframe.

Highlighting additional developments, the minister stated that work on the Sukkur-Hyderabad and Karachi motorways in Sindh is also set to begin, showcasing the government’s focus on strengthening national connectivity.

In Balochistan, Abdul Aleem Khan noted that transformation of the N25 highway — linking Quetta to Karachi — into a four-lane road with motorway-like standards is already in progress.

To ensure timely completion, Khan announced that all projects will be closely monitored with fortnightly review meetings. He urged NHA officials to adopt a more results-driven approach in their presentations and called for improvements to the visual appeal of city entrances managed by the authority.

During his visit to NHA headquarters, the minister also participated in a green initiative by planting a sapling. He directed the coordination of a joint session with the Ring Road Authority to streamline upcoming projects.
