
LAHORE (RNN TV)– Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with the Ethiopian Ambassador, Dr. Jamal Baker Abdullah, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Ethiopia. The meeting, held in Lahore, focused on enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz warmly welcomed Dr. Abdullah and emphasized the importance of further solidifying the ties between the two nations. Both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, particularly in the areas of agriculture, education, healthcare, information technology, and trade.
The two leaders expressed a strong commitment to expanding collaboration in these sectors, with a particular focus on agricultural development, educational exchanges, and health initiatives. They also agreed to explore new opportunities for business and technological partnerships.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz noted that the growing bilateral consultations between Pakistan and Ethiopia are a positive development, highlighting the vast potential for future cooperation between the two countries. She also congratulated the Ethiopian Ambassador on the restoration of direct flights between Pakistan and Ethiopia, which is expected to further enhance people-to-people contacts and trade relations.
Ambassador Dr. Jamal Baker Abdullah praised the Punjab government’s developmental strategies and welfare initiatives, expressing Ethiopia’s desire to strengthen its relationship with Pakistan, particularly with the province of Punjab. He reiterated Ethiopia’s interest in enhancing diplomatic and economic ties, emphasizing the mutual benefits of a closer partnership.
