ISPR Director General Lt General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry revealed on Wednesday that India launched unprovoked overnight strikes on six locations in Pakistan, including mosques and civilian areas, killing 26 people and injuring 46. Among the targets was the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project, which sustained damage — an act the ISPR chief called a violation of international laws.
Lt Gen Chaudhry condemned the attacks as reflective of the “Hindutva mindset” of the Modi government, noting deliberate strikes on places of worship in Ahmedpur East and Muridke. Civilian casualties included women and children, while Indian shelling along the LoC also claimed additional lives.
In response, Pakistan’s armed forces launched a swift counterstrike, downing five Indian fighter jets — including three Rafales and a MiG-29 — and destroying key Indian military positions, including a brigade headquarters and several posts.
Despite Indian aggression, all Pakistani military and strategic assets remain secure. The ISPR chief emphasized that Pakistan seeks peace but will not hesitate to defend itself, and the matter will be raised at international forums.
