URUMQI (RNN TV) — President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday visited the Urban Operations and Management Centre in Urumqi, where he was welcomed by the city’s Mayor and Xinjiang’s Vice Governor.

During the visit, President Zardari and his delegation received a detailed briefing on the Centre, which digitally connects more than 30 municipal departments and provides over 200 public services through a single platform.

Officials highlighted how the Centre acts as a one-stop hub for citizens, facilitating real-time coordination on health, education, road safety, utilities, and emergency response.

Impressed by the integrated digital system, President Zardari praised the vision and planning behind the Centre. He noted that Pakistan could benefit from such a model and hoped that urban planners in the country would adapt similar strategies to local needs.

Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, and the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan were also present during the visit.
