Quetta/Gwadar (RNN TV) — The security situation in parts of Balochistan has stabilised following a series of coordinated militant attacks across the province, security sources said on Saturday, adding that clearance and follow-up operations were continuing in affected areas.

According to the sources, at least 11 police and security personnel were killed during the latest wave of attacks, while 78 suspected militants were killed in retaliatory and pursuit operations carried out by security forces and law enforcement agencies.

Over the past three days, a total of 129 militants have been killed across the province, including 51 in operations conducted over the last two days, the sources said. They added that the attacks, which targeted multiple locations, were effectively foiled through timely action by security forces, preventing further casualties and damage.

The militants had launched assaults at 12 locations across Balochistan, prompting swift counter-terrorism operations by the police, Frontier Corps (FC) and other law enforcement agencies. Security forces continue to pursue remaining suspects, with aerial surveillance and ground operations underway, officials said.

In Gwadar, members of a Baloch labour family were among those killed when militants targeted civilians. The victims, who belonged to Khuzdar district, included a woman and children, according to officials. Authorities said those responsible were being tracked and neutralised during subsequent operations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the fallen security personnel and praised the forces for thwarting the attacks. In a statement, he said the nation stood firmly behind the armed forces and law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti also condemned the attacks and commended the security forces for their response. The chief minister visited a blast site in Quetta, reviewed the security situation and received a briefing from Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir.

“These attacks will not weaken our resolve,” CM Bugti said, adding that there would be no compromise on peace in the province.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar described the attacks as a “desperate attempt” by militant groups, stating that heightened alertness and coordination among security agencies had helped repel them.

A day earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had announced that 41 militants were killed in intelligence-based operations in different parts of Balochistan, including on the outskirts of Harnai district.

Authorities said operations against militant networks were ongoing and vowed to continue action until the security situation was fully normalised.
