LAHORE (RNN TV) — Pakistan sealed a spot in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 with a dominant seven-wicket win over Bangladesh at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground on Saturday, wrapping up an unbeaten run in the qualifiers.

Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana’s decision to bat first backfired, as her side struggled to post a competitive total, finishing at 178/9 in 50 overs. Pakistan’s bowlers kept things tight, with Sadia Iqbal leading the charge, claiming 3 wickets for 28 runs in her full quota of 10 overs.

She received strong support from captain Fatima Sana and Diana Baig, who took two wickets each, while Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu chipped in with one apiece.

Ritu Moni was the standout batter for Bangladesh, scoring 48 off 76 balls, including five boundaries, in what was a must-win match for her team.

 Pakistan capped off their unbeaten run in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 qualifiers with a commanding seven-wicket win over Bangladesh, chasing down the 179-run target with ease and 62 balls to spare at the Lahore City Cricket Association Ground on Saturday.

After restricting Bangladesh to 178/9, the home side’s chase was anchored by solid half-centuries from Muneeba Ali and Aliya Riaz. Muneeba top-scored with a fluent 69 off 93 balls, smashing eight boundaries, while Riaz remained unbeaten on 52 off 65 deliveries, hitting six fours and a six. Sidra Amin also chipped in with a useful 33 off 52, including four boundaries.

Earlier, Fahima Khatun stood out for Bangladesh with an unbeaten 44 off 53 balls, striking four fours to help her team reach a respectable total. Ritu Moni had also contributed with 48 runs earlier in the innings.

Pakistan’s bowlers were once again on point, with Sadia Iqbal taking 3/28 and support coming from Fatima Sana and Diana Baig with two wickets each. Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu claimed a wicket apiece.

On the bowling front for Bangladesh, Rabeya Khan, Nahida Akter, and Marufa Akter took one wicket each.

Having already qualified for the World Cup with their earlier 87-run win over Thailand, Pakistan now await the final match of the qualifiers between West Indies and Thailand, which will determine Bangladesh’s fate. If West Indies secure a big win, they could leapfrog Bangladesh and join Pakistan at the main event in India later this year.
