ISLAMABAD (RNN TV) — Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, on Friday urged the Supreme Court and high courts to assert their authority by ensuring the enforcement of their rulings.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Ayub expressed frustration over being denied permission to meet former Prime Minister Imran Khan, calling it a clear violation of the law and Constitution.

He criticized the judiciary for failing to enforce its own decisions and called on the Chief Justices of both the Supreme Court and high courts to restore the authority of the judiciary.

Ayub also shared an incident where an officer at Adiala Jail referred to them as “unknown people.” He slammed the bureaucracy, warning that it would have to apologize to Imran Khan once he returns to power.

The PTI leader reminded journalists that a three-member bench of the IHC had ruled in favor of their meeting with Imran Khan. “We, Imran Khan’s associates, have been denied a meeting with our leader for the past three months,” he stated.

Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, also spoke to the media at the IHC, criticizing the jail staff for not understanding the chief justice’s order. “It’s not us but the court that is being insulted,” she said.

Senate Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz also condemned the situation, emphasizing that it is the constitutional duty of judges to ensure their orders are implemented.
