F-35 jet israel iran

(WEB DESK) — Iran has claimed to have shot down two Israeli F-35I Adir stealth fighter jets involved in airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites during Operation ‘Rising Lion’ on June 13. If verified, it would mark only the second time a stealth fighter has ever been downed in combat.

Iranian media reported that its air defenses intercepted the aircraft, capturing one Israeli pilot. However, Israel’s military has categorically denied the claims, calling them “baseless.” Images circulating online, allegedly showing the wreckage, have been dismissed by analysts as fake or AI-generated, and Iran has yet to release definitive evidence.

The Israeli strikes reportedly targeted key nuclear facilities and killed top Revolutionary Guard leaders, using a coordinated assault involving F-35Is, drones, and missiles. Iran responded with missile attacks on Israeli cities, escalating regional tensions.

The F-35I Adir, a customized variant of the American F-35 Lightning II, is a cornerstone of Israel’s air capabilities, praised for its stealth, advanced avionics, and deep-strike reach.

This incident, if confirmed, could deal a blow to the credibility of stealth technology, reminiscent of the 1999 downing of a U.S. F-117 Nighthawk over Serbia.
