
LAHORE (RNN TV) — Strong earthquake tremors were felt across the federal capital, parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Punjab on Saturday, triggering panic among residents and prompting a swift response from authorities.
According to the National Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 4.3 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 88 kilometres. The epicentre was located near the tri-border area of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.
Tremors were felt in Islamabad and surrounding regions, including Taxila and Wah Cantt, where residents evacuated homes, offices, and schools in fear. Similar reactions were reported in Haripur, Abbottabad, Attock, and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Although the seismic activity caused widespread concern, there were no immediate reports of casualties or structural damage. Emergency response teams and local authorities remain on alert as assessments continue.
